Every week for the past 6 years, I've (Ron) received the St. Louis Jewish Light in the mail. It is the local newspaper that disseminates local and national news relevant to the Jewish Community. And for those 6 years, I check out the "lifecycle celebrations" page to see who all the newly engaged or married couples are.

As my many former roommates can attest, I open to the page and then proceed to comment on how dumbfounded I am that such dorky, dweeby, cheesy guys are landing such fine ladies. I've been known to keep it open for weeks to show anyone who comes into the house just how poorly matched they superficially are.

Well, my day of reckoning came this past week when I turned to the lifecycle celebrations page and saw yet another dorky, dweeby and cheesy guy with an incredible woman.

We are now back in the swing of things in St. Louis--but since it is a snow day we thought we would update our blog a bit.

For our winter break, we headed to Knoxville, Tennessee to meet up with the entire Gubitz clan. On our way, we stopped in Nashville. We got to see our friends Jeffrey and Leah and film a new cupcake review, courtesy of the Cupcake Project:

We also got to meet up for a great pizza with Ben Deitle and Erin Nourse.

Leslie-sister was done with IU for the semester and getting ready to head to Tel Aviv for her semester abroad. Jennifer also finished her semester at HUC and is officially halfway through her rabbinical training.

The Gubitz women spent some time searching for dresses all over the city of Knoxville.

For New Years Eve, the two of us headed to a rental cabin in the Smokey Mountains for a few days of food-gorging, hot-tubbing, and TV-watching. Shout out to the Indiana basketball team for beating down the Michigan Wolverines in the Big Ten opener.

On the 2nd, Jeff and Charlene cooked and baked all day in preparation for our "Meet the Family" event. We had about 60 to 70 folks drop by. One person even introduced themselves by saying they had been at my bris. Yowzer.

But it was a blast and highlighted by Leslie-biddybop receiving her first "Team Gubitz" jersey.
